The OOC RP Discusson Meme

The OOC RP Discussion Meme

[How To]

1. Discuss anything to do with RP-ing - Plots you want to try out, characters, characterization, head canon/fan theories, game ideas, meme ideas, fic and fanart ideas, AU and crossover ideas, Verse/PSL ideas, etc, etc. Game and comm promotions are fine, too.

2. Comments can be anon or non-anon, it's up to you.

3. Please do not bash, flame or name drop any mun or game in a negative fashion. No wanking, please!

4. Have fun!

Oh, I have. It's just that this is a problem that seems to be common and recurring with many different players in many different fandoms. My point is that the characters don't have to be black and white all the time, and they have a right to protest IC even if the mun has given the go-ahead.

Why don't you clarify this when you say OK from now on?

Sometimes, you really have to tell people everything.

I try to, but I guess I feel like it's also kind of a general thing all players should be aware of. This can go for anything in a thread, really, not just smut/violence consent; say you have a character who's really antisocial and another character throws them a surprise party. If the mun approved it, it's okay, but the antisocial character would be ooc if they were happy and grateful for the party. All I mean to get at is that mun and muse reactions to things are always going to be different.

Sure, but it can't hurt to make that really obvious and clear.

Some people are not that good at reading cues, and it's not good to expect my RP buddies to read my mind, methinks.
