The IC Anon Fanmail Meme

The IC Anon Fanmail Meme

This meme is similar to the Anon Questions Meme, except that the characters get anon fanmail instead of anon questions.

[The Rules]

1. Post as your characters, and write down the name, canon, preferences, etc.

2. Go around and find another character, go anon, and send them IC anon fanmail. The fanmail can be as sincere or insincere as you wish.

3. Tag away, and be excellent to each other! No wank, please.

Thank you, sir!

A lot of healers. That's a good thing. Like my family.

[A pause.]

I think I've had more rewards than heartbreaks. I've helped birth a baby and given people back their lives.

Perhaps we have more in common than I had previously thought, some of my family were soldiers as were some of my friends.

I am glad that has been your experience, and that sounds like you have had some lovely times in your career. The birth of a child is an amazing thing, what is the child's name?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-25 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
It seems that way, doesn't it?

My closest friend is a soldier, but he joined the military to use it for research. He hopes he won't be used as a human weapon before he has the information he needs.

Dominic, after his grandfather. He's walking and trying to talk now!

I wish your friend well, it has been my experience that when a man slips himself into a den of vipers, even for the best of intentions, he rarely gets out without a few bites. It is much easier to get pulled down into the darkness and sickness rather than rise above it and take people with you.

Well, bless his heart. A fine age indeed!

(Anonymous) 2015-04-25 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He's...doing pretty well. But I'll tell him what you said about vipers. He'd probably say he'd bite the head off of one.

He's really cute. He looks like his father.

He sounds like a very young, spirited young man. As confident as he is, it is always best to beware. There is only one of him.

What are some of your other proud accomplishments?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
He's lived a lot more in his years than some people ever will. And he has a lot of people on his side. But he...does lead a dangerous life.

Ah...I built my first arm at the age of eleven. And now I have a lot of customers. I'm getting to travel, too. That's...a lot of people who aren't part of the military don't often leave where they were born. At least not where I'm from.

It sounds like you worry and care about him, are you two in close contact and do you see him often?

You built an arm? That sounds very impressive, I believe we could have used a person like you a number of years ago when everyone was losing limbs and life.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I do. And it depends. He doesn't like me involved in the more...ah. Dangerous aspects of his life. We stay in contact though. Usually when he needs something.

I'm an automail engineer. I build arms and legs for my living. It's the family business.

That sounds very much like the mail of the species, sad to say.

Ah, yes, that is correct, you mentioned it before - your grandmother was one, while your parents were doctors. Forgive me, I do not believe we have that word in our current language.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It does, doesn't it? It's all right. We both have things we're good at, his just happens to be saving people.

No, it's not in many languages...some people recognize what it is when I explain it. It's really a complicated prosthetic that acts like a human limb, only it's made of metal.

[personal profile] j_h_holliday 2015-04-26 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds like that is what you're good at as well, never take that away from yourself. There is nothing less about you because you don't dress up in a uniform.

Ah, well that sounds remarkably improved on our crude prosthetic limbs that are ill fitting and made out of wood. Do your patients ever complain of feeling a limb that is gone as if it were real?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't. I save them one at a time. He saves a lot at a time.

Only when they're not wearing their automail. The prosthetics I build connects directly to the nervous system, so it simulates the action of the flesh limb.

A life is a life, and life is precious - even if most of them seem to be squandered away by the people who have them.

How fascinating, the area of science and physiology interest me and I recently read an article about the topic and one man called them 'phantom limbs'. The doctor described how a man would still feel his leg or his arm despite it not being there, itches, fingers clenched and curling into palms. Very interesting.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Or used up by other people.

I know about phantom limbs. My customers complain about them sometimes.

This is also true.

I must admit, I am jealous of you. It sounds as though you live in a very exciting and far more advanced time than I.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly it is.

I'm not too far in your future, time-wise. I was born in the late 1800s. My world just runs differently.

[personal profile] j_h_holliday 2015-04-26 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Even more interesting! Though that now begs the question, at least on my end, how did you hear about me?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The ultraverse allows for a lot of...um. Cross-universal explorations?

[personal profile] j_h_holliday 2015-04-26 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I do not know enough about that to determine if it is incorrect or not. However, in an attempt to seem less ignorant I will completely agree with you.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
You get used to it eventually. People whom you know nothing about will greet you as old friends.
j_h_holliday: (exhale)

[personal profile] j_h_holliday 2015-04-26 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
A pleasant enough occurrence despite the oddity of the situation. Does the same happen to you?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes. I've been around a while, I can usually recognize where people are from, even if I don't know that person specifically.
