Dear Asuka Langley,

I've been a fan of yours for quite some time now, after watching the way you pilot your Eva 02, and the way you handle yourself around others. You're not some stick in the mud, like most military personnel, you're still a cheerful, fun-loving school girl, who likes to tease and taunt those who take themselves too seriously! You don't just pilot your eva, you do it with style and flair, saving the world while have the time of your life!

When something is wrong, you don't just sit back and let it happen, you're a fighter through and through, ready to charge head first into the thick of it and prove to the world you're not just a pretty face. Don't get me wrong though, I could likely go on for days about that pretty face of yours, but you're downright badass. When the job needs to be done, you're quick on your feet, and ready like you were born to show the world who you are.

You're incredibly intelligent, playful, biting and witty, always ready to call out others on their stupidity or lameness, a total sex-bomb, and no matter what happens, you'll always be number one in my book. Others wish they could reach the levels of awe inspiring charm, grace, and skill you've got in just your pinkie. You're like a star in that you're so beautiful, so far out of reach to most of us, and you shine so brightly it burns.

Yet the thing I love most about you is how human you are. You never forget to enjoy the little things in life, like hanging out with friends, playing video games, going on trips to exotic fun locations, or what have you. You live a life so much bigger, and so much grander than most of us, yet you still live life like any ordinary girl too. You're not just humanity's greatest hope, you are humanity in it's purest forms of expression.

You're awesome Asuka Langely, and never forget just how beloved you are by those around you.

Yours truly,
Anon.

Dear Miss Robin,

I'm writing you because I feel there are one or two tactical blunders you may have run into that I think I might have known a few ways around.

One thing that always bothered me was when Emmeryn was about to be executed, why didn't you have your falcon knights use rescue staves? This way they could stay out of range of the surprise risen bowmen, or Aversa's magic, but still save Emmeryn. For that matter, why not have Lissa, Maribelle, or Libra use a rescue staff, and then have Fredrick act as Emmeryn's shield?

Secondly, in the battle against Validar, why didn't you leave your Thoron tome at home? For that matter, why not simply reclass with a second seal so that you would be incapable of using magic to hurt Chrom? At least with a sword, or axe, he'd have a decent chance of blocking the attack.

Thirdly, and most importantly, why did you leave Plegia to its own devices after the war?! You had the combined union of Ylisse and Ferox, you easily could have expanded both kingdoms, and kept the tragedy of Grima's return, or Validar's rise to power from ever happening. You would not only have saved yourselves a lot of trouble, but no doubt you also would have saved thousands of Plegian lives that were sacrificed to bring about Grima's return. Even Gangrel was better for Plegia as king than Validar, because at least he wasn't trying to bring about the end of all mankind.

Your troubled fellow tactician,
Anon.

Anon,

To your first question, the answer boils down to two factors. The first, unfortunately, was a lack of supplies. At that point in the war, it was still two years before we had ready access to both rescue staves and master seals. What few we had, we'd expended at that point. The second, which renders the first a moot point, is that none of our soldiers at the time had the magic to reach Lady Emmeryn's position with a staff. To this day, I still have no idea how Flavia could throw an axe that high.

To your second, while I can't speak for any possible alternate versions of myself, I was a swordmaster at the time, as I was through most of that particular conflict. I suspect that had more to do with not being in complete control than what supplies I had access to. Regardless, if there was any way to avoid stabbing my own husband entirely, rest assured that it would have been taken.

Regrettably, I have no easy answer to the third question, although you overestimate both the strength of a union of two nations that were still recovering years later, and the ease of taking political control of an entire subcontinent. Our own nations had to be our first priority, and all things considered, the idea of a worse king than Gangrel was rather far-fetched at the time, if not in hindsight.

Hope this helps,
Robin.
